Knife Review Victorinox
There are few things that I am willing to endorse, Snapple is for drinking, leather shoes for the kitchen, and as for knives Victorinox is definitely one of them.
There is always a balance with buying something, how much are you willing to spend and what are you going to receive.
There are better knives than Victorinox, there are also more expensive knives than Victorinox as well. Where these knives go right is that there is nothing as good as them for even remotely the price.
They are a staple in the industry, good enough to be used by professionals, cheap enough for the cook to buy.
I have owned Globals, used Shun, Wustuff and a host of other knives including a expensive handmade Japanese knife, which I have a happy relationship with.
That being said, I prefer Victorinox over Shun and the others for unbeatable value, I won't argue that for example this Shun isn't the better made knife

But rather that for not quite as good but easily good enough performance you can buy this knife for

It's not just me Victorinox knives have been voted best knives by Cooks Illustrated and are highly recommended by multiple other magazines as well.
They are a stamped knife not a forged one, so are much lighter that you may be used too. They come with a grippy synthetic handle that doesn't so much as move when wet, lifetime warranties last time I checked, and sharpen easily, to a razors edge.
I do find however that the handles are thicker than desirable and they are made of a softer metal which requires you to sharpen/ steel them more than I would like.
That being said they are pretty much indestructible, and you won't chip them like you would a knife with harder metal, like a shun. You can even put these in the dishwasher and they will survive, though never recommended.
All and all I believe they are the perfect beginners knife and represent a value far beyond what they charge, which is rare.
Without hesitation I would rate them 10/10 based on price and performance.
